The tachograph download obligation, and how the app meets it
A transport company has to download and keep the data from the driver card and the vehicle unit on time. The VYS Tacho app does that for you, and it is enough on its own: no other device is needed.

What the rules require
Regulation (EU) No 581/2010 sets how often you have to download. Being late risks a fine at a company inspection.
- The driver card at least every 28 days
- The vehicle unit at least every 90 days
- At a roadside check, a driver card shows at least 56 days and a vehicle unit at least 90 days
Why the app is enough
The app fetches the official DDD file, with the tachograph's digital signature. It is the same file as with a download key, and it goes straight to your portal.

Frequently asked questions
Is downloading with an app legally allowed?
Yes. The law requires the data to be downloaded and kept on time, not with which device. The app delivers the official file with the tachograph's signature.
